Yellowstone National Park - Wyoming, Montana, Idaho
Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is America's
first national park. Located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, it
is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears,
wolves, bison, and elk. Preserved within Yellowstone National
Park are Old Faithful and a collection of the world's most
extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon
of the Yellowstone.

Yosemite National Park is located in the central Sierra Nevada
of California and lies 150 miles east of San Francisco and only a
six-hour drive from Los Angeles. Designated a World Heritage
Site in 1984, Yosemite is internationally recognized for its
spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant
sequoia groves, and biological diversity. The 750,000-acre,
1,200 square-mile park contains thousands of lakes and ponds,
1600 miles of streams, 800 miles of hiking trails, and 350 miles
of roads. Two federally designated wild and scenic rivers, the
Merced and Tuolumne, begin within Yosemite’s borders and
flow west into California's Central Valley. Annual park visitation
exceeds 3.5 million, with most visitor use concentrated in the
seven square mile area of Yosemite Valley.
You can visit Yosemite all year, though some areas of the park
are inaccessible by car from approximately November through
May due to snow. You can drive your car into and around
Yosemite, though it’s encouraged that you use shuttle buses in
some areas.
Reservations are not required to enter Yosemite, however it’s
strongly recommended that you make reservations for
camping or lodging if you plan to spend the night.

and hundreds of other geysers and hot springs. View the
colorful Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and enjoy the wild
beauty of Yellowstone Lake. Look for bears and wolves, elk

Yellowstone and learn about the park's history. Hiking,
camping, fishing, enjoying exhibits and films, and attending
Ranger-led programs are among the many ways you can enjoy

Yosemite Valley is world famous for its impressive waterfalls,
meadows, cliffs, and unusual rock formations. Yosemite Valley
is accessible by car all year.
Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias
The Mariposa Grove is located 36 miles (one hour) south of
Yosemite Valley, near the park's South Entrance. The Mariposa
Grove is the largest stand of giant sequoias (also known as
Sierra redwoods or big trees) in Yosemite. The road to the
Mariposa Grove is not plowed in winter and is often closed to
cars (but not to hikers or skiers) from sometime in November
through March or April.
